Rest & abide

Over the last few days, I have been feeling the prompting of the Lord to be silent before Him.

To rest means to be still and to make yourself quiet. Be intentional about being quiet before the Lord for the month of January, and likely the rest of 2022.

I asked the Lord how I can give this month to Him and what that means. I wasn’t sure if that was to pray and fast all month, worship all day, war in the middle of the night, etc. But then the Lord answered me. Rest & abide.

We build a closer and stronger relationship with our Father when we sit still and listen. The enemy is intimated by our relationship with our Father. Not by how much we worship, our activity in the church, or how frequently post about the Lord. It is our intimacy with the Lord. Just like Moses, David, and Jesus had very close relationships with the Lord, we need to do the same.

This also informs us about the high intensity of spiritual warfare that is coming this year, as mentioned in my previous post “[2022 Prophetic Word} Possessing the Land.” It is not something we can do on our own, at all. We cannot afford to only pray, fast, and worship - we must also rest and abide. The Lord will fight our battles as we abide in Him strongly, consistently - just as He promised us in Psalm 91. He won’t let anything happen to us while we are with Him. Jehovah don’t play ‘bout us! This is our warfare strategy. Humble yourself and surrender it all to Jehovah (1 Peter 5:6-7). The promises of the Lord will come to you as you rest in Him. Know and understand that “it will either be God or it will be God. If He doesn’t do it, it isn’t getting done!” - (Sophia Ruffin). Stop stressing over trying to make things work and give everything to Jehovah. He will fulfill His promises to you, just rest & abide.

When we begin to spend quality time in the secret place with Abba Father, we begin to truly be glory/light carriers, carrying the presence of the Lord, and shining brighter in a world that is only getting darker. (Zechariah 2:5). There is protection, covering, restoration, relationship, strategy, and more in the shadow of the Almighty. Our lives will change once we receive this revelation & I pray that everyone who reads this receives this revelation.

This is our battle strategy.

This is how we will get further.

This is how we will shine brighter.

This is how we will carry more weight.

This is how we will remain with a sound mind.

The deeper we go in the Lord, the more we become like Him. We will be purged, pruned, and revived - on fire inside & out with a flame that cannot be quenched.

Rest. Abide. Trust in the Lord your God, the Almighty and Holy One of Israel. Our Great Redeemer.
